Her studies continued in New York at the School of Visual Arts and NYU where she expanded her exploration into the world of art and psychology, and received her Masters in Art Therapy. Her work combines the language of contemporary art with an awareness of the subconscious and the therapeutic aspects of the creative process. Pessi’s work has been shown in Israel and the US and is in numerous private collections. Pessi lives and works in New York.

About the Artwork:
In her work, Pessi is engaged in a search for definition of both sense of Identity and belonging. “Heart and Soul” is a sculpture taken out of an earlier body of work named: “Girl - Woman – House”. In that series of sculptures and paintings Pessi explores women in different stages of life with the domestic environment as a framework. Pessi uses images such as: House, Chair, and Plant, in naïve, primal forms and constructs environments which are at the same time whimsical and serious, freeing and confining, suggesting a frame and definition yet leaving them open-ended.
